I first started working with Paul as part of Harrogate Borough Council’s Economic Development Team. Paul was working on the Science City York (SCY) European funded mentoring programme. Paul had identified that, although the programme was available to businesses in Harrogate district, not many were aware and taking advantage of it. Paul approached the Council with the idea of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding, meaning that we work together to ensure that as many as possible Harrogate district businesses benefitted from the programme. Mentoring a cohort of 10 businesses, Paul supported the creation of 9 full-time, 8 part-time and 2 freelance opportunities and the launch of an additional online retail business.
